The Search For A CS5 Setup

I picked up Adobe CS5, thinking I could run it on this old laptop.  Big mistake!  Granted, I knew I'd have to upgrade, but I wasn't expecting a complete overhaul!  Long story short, I need a new computer.

My research into the matter has led me to an interesting plan.  Since I already have an old desktop and a laptop, I thought it would be neat to replace the PC with a CS5-ready box, hook up the old PC to my TV, then use my laptop as a remote terminal.  The problem is, I have no idea whether working remotely would...work.  The internets has only gotten me as far as selecting hardware, but running CS5 remotely -- as in cloud-like computing -- doesn't appear to be a popular experiment among the techies, and I'm short on time.

It's not that I'm especially fond of this laptop, but the thought of having two laptops ranks up there with TVs in the bathroom.  Plus, a good CS5 laptop is way more expensive than a maxed-out desktop.  Furthermore, I'm not exactly the mobile type.  It's not that I'm lazy; it's more of a security-thing.  I've heard way too many stories of armed laptop thefts to even consider taking a newly-purchased piece of technology into the wild.  I think my creative process would suffer if I had to wind-up my roundhouse kick everytime someone walked nearby.

So that's my plan; create my own version of Onlive, but with CS5 instead of games.  I'm venturing into new technological territory, so I feel compelled to let everyone know where I'm going, just in case I get lost along the way.
